Snuff Manufacturing

Well, it starts by taking tobacco leaves that have been cleaned and striped of any stalks and allowing them to dry in the sun. Once dried, the tobacco goes two separate ways depending on where it’s made. In the States, the tobacco is placed in large curing barns where smoldering fires are lit and the tobacco is allowed to smoke for up to 12 weeks. This curing gives American snuffs their distinctive, smoky flavor. English snuffs eliminate this step.
